Does the supernatural power of God have the ability to change people?
You could make the argument that God is God (omnipotent) and he can do anything—whatever he wants whenever he wants… or can he?
I imagine he could, but I would answer the question as such: The supernatural power of God can only change what we allow it to. If it’s any other way, freewill is eliminated and it’s not the nature of God to force himself on any human heart.
Just a thought…

Hi
Your thought gave me much ponderence…
It seems the word itself SuperNatural implies that God does have the ability to change people or to do whatever he wants to His creation (the natural). The freewill we have is also given to us from God. We can accept or reject him. God’s allowing us to have free will to me is different than What you said about the supernatural power of God can only change what we(humankind) allow it too… that would give man equality or even power over God…Im going to think more about this .. please write more on this thank you, susan

i reckon God is God and can do whatever he wants, or has the power to do whatever he wants… but does he use that power? i certainly dont presume to know…
it would seem to me, however, that when it comes to salvation or acceptance of Christ in the human heart, that decision has to be made out of the freewill of man…
does that put humanity on the same level as God or even having power over him?? no. not at all.
i just dont think it is in the nature of God to make (or maybe even want to make) that decision for people… here’s a thought… based on the nature of God, i wonder if it has even crossed the mind of God to make any decision for someone or to impose his will on someone??? maybe… maybe not. i certainly don’t presume to know.
oh man… if i keep going on this train of thought my mind is going to explode… i guess that is why scripture tells us that his ways and thoughts are higher than ours… im glad im not God. i would suck at that job…

What’s up Harrison ? hope all is well.
On the first question yes there are some things God cannot do, mainly being he cannot sin. He can’t go against his own nature.
Just a thought on this, i think an answer to the 2nd question is yes, seeing in scripture, that it is God who ultimately brings us to himself, and does a supernatural work in our heart. The greatest example being the apostle Paul. A man who killed Christians, and thought he was doing good for God, little did he know what would happen next. Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus asking “why do you persecute me?”(Acts 9:4) Revealing himself to Paul and radically saving him.(Galatians 1:13-17) Also I’ll add that the glory of God blinded him in this in encounter : ) God shows us in scripture that none of us are good and that none seek him, but rather God elects and saves us. (Greatest rescue mission ever!) But also it is Grace through Faith that saves us. The love of God cannot be expressed in words. This Grace that he gives to us is indescribable.
Paraphrased some of the verses.
Romans 3:10-12 ( No one is good not even one, no one seeks God)
Romans 9:16 (does not depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy)
Romans 9:18 (Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.)
Isaiah 65:1 ( I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me)
Acts 2:17 (God pouring out his spirit onto people in the last days)
Ephesians 1:4-6 (Chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight)
Love ya man, the blog is an awesome way to fellowship and grow through conversation. Thanks
